Sketch. Comic. Sketch.
Practising with figures as blocks and basic use of shape...these I quick ways of sketching within a minute, I would like to start to neaten it up more and take more time over them...experiment more with mixed media and the use of photoshop like how I've used it previously with the origami shapes.
Stand Dev.

Just some pattens I had made from draping on the stand, still more patterns to be made. I want to develop my jackets further before I drape anymore of them. I really need to go fabric shopping to source fabrics that are going to work with the drape. Maybe stiffer fabrics for my suiting jacket and find some interlining...then flowing more underneath for the dresses. I going to start constructing some trousers very soon too..sooo excited! I've been looking at venues that we could possibly have for the fashion show too, Andrea and Emma suggested Truman Brewery on Brick Lane...I found some more but need to consider what the costs will be and room we will have...Il Bottaccio in Belgravia, Luxx in Burlington Street and The Bridge on London Bridge. I'm kind of stressing about the time we have until the show but it's all about being prepared and planning. I spoke to Tony yesterday, head of the fashion department at Herts and he gave me lots of good feedback...he asked me where would my collection fit into the current market, where could I sell my clothing, I was kind of lost for words as I don't think there is a market for my clothing yet...my clothing has a futurist 1970's feel...he also suggested making the clothing more functional e.g. hoods, pockets. I really like the idea of making it more functional as I was interested in sports wear and performance wear a couple of months ago. He described my collection as looking more costume attire and on the urge of become more like superheroe figurative pieces so I'm going to try and move away from that. I was going to go into uni today but I noticed on studynet that the machines and presses were not open or on today so I decided to stay at home, blog, sketchbook work, cad flats and more of my dissertation! I think that's all the current information so far. xx

TOILE Review.
'Progress being made but need to keep focused and clear of what is needed - don't rush to find a conclusion - you need to problem solve more with folding and origami - look at 70's sc-fi "Logan's Run" the sets. Spend time with toile pattern, drape and fold trying to get quality you need - LINE UP IS NEEDED NOW! More fabric research.'
