This week has been a rather busy week...with all these feedback sessions and reviews of the development of my design work. I have toiled and designed more but not to the full extent at which I would have liked to. I really need to push myself further! Well I know I definately want jackets in my collection as I have been draping some for ideas to push my concept. I did feel that something will work better if its patten cut with precision rather than draping but I have to say this week has changed my mind. I mean I do want my work to be very structural with very neat and concise pieces so tailoring will probably enter my development process. Some of the pieces I would like are also dresses and trousers. Alot of people I have come across really find trousers hard to make but I think it comes with practice and accurate measurements. The dresses I am considering draping but I think I want to experiement further and try new techniques for each of the components of my collection. Moving on from the technical side of things...I had to hand in a reports and 5 line up illustrations today...I have been experiementing with photoshop and illustrator more but I think I'm going to keep producing images until I get the right illustrations that I'm happy with and have my own unique style. I will upload some of my work after.
Today I only had to hand my work so far...as the tutors wanted to know our concepts through a 1,000 outline report. I feel I have summed up my collection to a basic standard so far as its only a few weeks now since I've been back. Moving on to something else that has made me very excited about the future within design, a local tailor has approached me whilst working at my part-time job, it was quite over-whelming he was interested in what I am study as most people find it hilarious that you can study fashion - there secretly jealous ha ha! He has great contacts and is willing to help me get my foot in the door, so thank goodness! I really am excited about the future and have been thinking about what I would like to go in...I'm actually open to new things at the moment and I know that I can suceed in what I love. I mean I've traveled to Australia for study and work experience so thats brave and I know I can do anything now :) Also within out group discussion at university today we were talking about a new fashion magazine 'Blue Moon' that are looking for editors, I would loveee to do this...so lets hope I can get there first!
Anyways enough about my week and day...I'll upload some work right now, along with the report I submitted.
Thanks for reading my blog! xx
